Holy moses it is cold here in Canada. Straight across the board — coast to coast — oh Canada you are one firkin cold country. Apparently this winter will be colder than it's been in 15 or 20 years. Not since the days of Hammer Pants, Snap-on Bracelets (those metal bands that would cut up the occasional wrist) and Troll Dolls have temperatures dropped this low. A 90s-esque Vanilla Ice raps "Ice Ice Baby" and I am doing my best to stay balanced whilst boogieing across frozen parking lots in boots with no grip. Right now I'm in Edmonton, and my God, I wonder how civilized people survive here. It's chilly yo. Yessah! I'm on a 2 month sabbatical from Vancouver.

It's been a good 4 years since I had a vacay. Wait. "Vacation?" Hah. Such a misnomer. Most of my trip is a fund raising mission for Soulular. We've got meetings booked in 5 cities and a hella-huge business evolution to seize hold of and implement.

I'm starting in Edmonton primarily to spend time with my family and old friends as I've been in dire need to catch up with them. Second to my peeps, I'm here to meet with business people for both Soulular and Blaspheme Clothing — though primarily for the latter. I'm very curious about what this industrial city has to offer in the way of clothing manufacturers. Locally produced and sustainable! That's my goal.

PS — To the Fashion Industry

I've been distracted lately as I've been dealing with Soulular happenings. That plus the Facebook debacle (oh... btw I have new info on that one... mayhap I'll share soon) and I've been very very lazy with my fashion community work. That changes this week y'hear! I've drafted a few volunteers and soon we'll be back at it. In the process I'm sure I've lost some of your interest. But whatevs. Our work is all long-term and I'm sure you'll come back around ;)
