Back when Facebook Inc. decided they didn't like me, this girl was one of a handful that stood up to fight back. She started the Vancouver protest group (alongside Toronto and NYC). And in my absence she became a voice for me, delivering news and updates, and reaching out to industry people on my behalf. Now she's officially working with me. World, meet Mandy Candy.
The Fashion Industry groups I began on Facebook were intended to provide a platform for up-and-coming artists to connect with established professionals. Since Facebook silenced me they've sat unmaintained — and yet they continue to grow. To live up to my promises to the community, Mandy is going to take over the Vancouver network.
In addition to this she will be a part of other not-for-profit initiatives I've got cooking up for the fashion world. More on that soon.
Back during the Facebook controversy there were people questioning whether or not she was real. Seems they may have thought I made her up.

Let me tell you a little about myself -gosh this sounds like a dating profile. The gorgeous city of Vancouver, B.C. is where I live and yes I am a Canucks fan. My passions include: going out to new restaurants, attending crazy hip events, singing/listening to some good music, and most importantly meeting fun-loving people.
I go to Simon Fraser University to pursue a Communications degree while working for Blas and Death by Chocolate. So if you ever see me on facebook, in school, at my work, or even bumping into me shopping on Robson Street (i heart shopping) - give me a 'hey mandy candy' shout ;)'
