Vancity - Clack Clack Empire

.:.:::: from the desk of mandy candy

"We don’t bring in any ol’ thang we think we might sell. No, no, no! We hunt for unique pieces from both local and foreign designers that like us are crazy for the details, the fits, the quality, the ethic, and the uniqueness of a product." -- Clack Clack Empire

The store Clack Clack Empire is already on my radar list. They're not even opened yet but there is much hype about this Chinatown-based clothing store. Their pre-opening just occured March 9th and I heard it was quite the party ;) Their humorous attitude and playful spirit truly makes this store one of a kind.

Some brands in the store:

Apolis Activism , Eventide Apparel, Evan and Dean, Anna Cohen, Wrath Arcane, Sling and Stones, Artysm, Dotted Loop

They're not opened yet - but we'll keep you updated ;)

Meanwhile, why not check out their website:
http://www.clackclackempire.com/

They are located at 524 Shanghai Alley Vancouver --- mandy candy will be there when they open!

It's in chinatown but what sort of store is it?

Hey Steveo!

It's a clothing store and it has some of the brands that I have mentioned above. Some of their brands are handmade, some are eco-friendly, and some are dedicated to a major charity. Not all the brands are local - but Check out Evan and Dean - they're from Vancouver and they're also going to present their fall 2008 line during Toronto's Loreal Fashion Week next week :) Hope that helped!

Interesting! I love that there are more sustainable brands coming out — both in design and retail. Where exactly is Shanghai Alley? Near the football pitch? Or is it that little courtyard near the Ba-Le banh mi place? MMmm. Banh mi.
