Click and flash* Felix Wong is a young and upcoming photographer in Vancouver. His pictures are simply innovative.
I met Felix through an online magazine launch party a while back in 07’ when we were both volunteers at the event. The moment I met him I knew big things were going to happen for this guy. I was lucky enough to sit through one of his photo shoots and I was blown away by the beautiful photos that seemed to just emerge from his camera.
Felix Wong studied photography at Vancouver's Langara College. He also stayed in Toronto for 2 weeks for an internship with Chris Nicholls – whose work appears in many magazines including Elle, Flare, and Fashion.
At just 21 years old, Felix is his own boss now with his own photography company — and I have no doubt that he will be a great success.

Describe your first experience with a film camera.
My friend Kevin actually made me sign up for photography. Back then, I never liked photography. That class was actually the first time I held a film camera.
Photographers you admire?
Chris Nicholls, Bryan Ishiguro, Greg Kadel
Describe your most bizarre photo shoot.
I would have to say the Agent Provocateur shoot. It was raining and snowing in downtown that day while the models were in a van with glass around it. I was assisting the photo shoot and I had to carry a big stand and a big light in that weather.
Have you always known that you were going to be a photographer?
In grade 11, when I took photography, I knew. My parents were negative at that time though, but now they have accepted it.
B/W (black and white) or colored?
I like both but I preferred colored mostly cause I can play around with color more.
What is the best place to take pictures in Vancouver?
Beach Iona right by the airport. I like landscapes and there’s really flat land there with tall grass.
How would you describe your photography style?
My style is more about keeping it simple, and using more natural light. There are lots of ways to modify natural light. I also like motion pictures but I am still experimenting right now.
Any tips for future photographers?
Research is the most important. Before you shoot, you need an idea and to have a plan so you can achieve that goal.
Can you describe your best/perfect photo shoot?
If I can achieve what I want in one frame/one single shot. That would be my perfect photo shoot.
New Years Resolution?
I would like to be more testings with modeling agencies and to get my name out there. Goals for the future would be to shoot professionally for magazines such as Flare, Fashion, or Vogue.
