timeraiser

Generating awareness. Connecting art and artists to the community, and the community giving right back! People are doing great thangs here!

Timeraiser is the easiest way to get involved with the community! A silent auction, where you offer your time (to volunteer organizations of your choice) in replace of money for works from various featured artists. The event goes throughout the year, in four different cities: Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and Ottawa. Check the site below, for dates and information. There's a few pieces i'm already eyeing at the Toronto show...check them out here! and email me if you're planning on going too!

I'll be there, calendar ready for the scheduling, a heart open to the arts, and my smile ready for networking. it will be feel good amazing! five successful years in a row, you can't deny it!

EJ Zotz
"Volunteering makes a community strong and dynamic. Timeraiser
is a great way to inspire people to get involved through art. I am glad to be able to contribute –  even in a small way – to help bring more awareness to all these great organizations with something that already means a great deal to me." – Erik Jerezano

Erik Jerezano, is a self-taught visual artist, born in Mexico City in 1973 and immigrated to Toronto, in 2001. Since arriving he has exhibited his work in numerous galleries. In 2005, he was awarded a Toronto Arts Council Emerging Artist grant and was selected by the Drawing Center Viewing program in New York to be added to their artists curatorial archive collection.

In the past, he has been involved in various community arts projects. In Mexico City, he collaborated on multiple outdoor murals, to beautify the landscape within several areas. This graduated to working within the community through artist workshops and other projects. In 2004, he and two other artists (Nahum Flores and Ilyana Martinez) created Z'otz* Collective. The artists meet weekly to collaborate on multi-media works that include drawing, painting, collage, portable sculpture and the written word. Following his personal success, the collective is also featured in several shows for their original works together, including Timeraiser.

Erik Jerezano is represented by Galerie Trois Points in Montreal and G+ Galleries in Toronto.

This Timeraiser group sounds fantastic.

Though I don't know if I would be of much use personally.... PERHAPS I can volunteer my braddah Jason. There's an endless amount of value he can provide to non-profits. You and he should talk some talk. Then walk the walk.
