Disco Dello Spazio is the type of event Vancouver’s evening culture could use more of.
A sweat-it-out-on-the-dance-floor party, chaperoned by three capable DJ’s into the early AM, is preceded by a contemporary art show overseen by the director of the Grace-Gallery, and composed of work by local artists, cocktails, and friendly banter. An art/dance party. These type of events have been popping up around town more frequently as of late, and I really dig the idea of getting away from the typical Granville club scene on the weekends to check out what the Vancouver art scene is up to, and get nasty to some good tunes in the atmosphere of a studio.
Attendees of this event are encouraged to dress to impress; think positive pretentiousness. And if you’re crazy, or just feel like it, you can dress up to the event’s cosmic theme.
Event Info:
April 5th 9:00pm - 5:00am
East Van Studios
870 East Cordova Street
Check the facebook event page for more information and for the freedom fighters aka facebook boycotters, check out this website for more information on the studio location: http://www.bradgough.ca/studiomap.html.
Email Leigh Christie (DJ, event coordinator) for guest list information.

hah. "Freedom fighters". That's me. mandy candy and Ms Dee bought me a shirt, "Facebook Schmacebook". And mayhap, just mayhap, I'll wear that bad boy to this party. I'm interested, but more for the art than the disco. Let me click through and see who they've got adorning the walls....

haha, isn't it ironic that passive activists tend to stick to their guns when it comes to contentious issues?

I ain't no activist... just a well learned professional who has had the pleasure(?) to witness what goes on behind a number of closed doors.

Yeah, the information for guest list reservations is incorporated in the event post. Leigh Christie is a really friendly and helpful guy. But get in their quick, because this event is expected to hit capacity--and quickly.
p.s. Blas, you know i am just having a jab, ain't no harm intended; kind of like wii boxing matches.
