Chapel Arts presents the opening of "43 Blocks" — a portrait documentary of Hastings Street exploring the east - west corridor by Jeremy Van Nieuwkerk - on January 19th, 2008.
It will be from 8pm til the early morning of 1am. The aim of this documentary is to show the wide range of populace living their lives on and around Hastings Street and to remind us about nurturing all parts of our community; particularly those we purposely overlook. Other local artists will be featured in the gallery as well. Bands to rock the opening night include: The Tranzmitors, Thee Manipulators, and Petroleum By-Products. Oh, and if you miss the opening don't worry — the photographic documentary will be showing until February 10th, 2008.

East Hastings is famous in Calgary... I'm guessing this will be hella interesting.
Is Hastings still a mess? When I was a kid we drove near there and all I remember is my mom telling us to lock the doors o_0
